The seventh season of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) in Singapore is set to return with the country’s top eight Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) teams squaring off for a share of the S$100,000 prize pool.
The regular season of MPL SG Season 7 commences over the weekend of 4 and 5 May, and continues until 25 May, when teams transition to the playoffs from 14 to 16 June. The matches for the Regular Season will be held at the Zenway Studios, the esports hub located at 53 Ubi Ave, #05-02, Singapore 408934.
The reigning champs, Team Flash are prepared to secure its first-ever back-to-back win. In the off-season, they have assembled an all-star squad with the addition of Adam “Adammir ” Chong from Bleed Esports and Yeo “Diablo” Wee Lun from RSG.
On the other hand, RSG aims to reclaim their throne without their ex-star player Diablo. Contenders also include the regular participants Evil, Vanguard Esports, Bleed Esports, HomeBois SG, as well as the newly qualified teams Asteris and Exco Esports.
The seventh season of MPL SG is now being hosted at *SCAPE, a freshly renovated venue, shifting from the previous location, Suntec City where seasons 5 and 6 were held. This will mark the first time an esports tournament is held at this modernized venue.
Mcdonald’s, a fast food chain, has returned as the Presenting Sponsor for this season and the following eighth season.
The sponsorship comes with the integration of McDonald’s Golden Arches into the MPL Singapore map. Also, the trophy will be designed with the McDonald’s theme.
“Following the record-breaking viewership of MPL Singapore Season 6, we are optimistic and gearing up for 2024. It’s thrilling to witness what we can achieve with our partners. McDonald’s involvement for the coming two seasons facilitates exciting activations throughout the year,” stated Daniel Chew, Moonton’s Head of Esports for Singapore.
The victor of MPL SG will be rewarded with S$30,000 and a slot in the MLBB MSC 2024. This upcoming Mid Season Cup is part of the Esports World Cup and boasts a US$3 million reward pool. The champions of the MLB MSC will pocket an impressive US$1 million, while past major contests like M5 offered a prize pool of only US$900,000.
