Unfortunately, Johnny Fisher’s highly anticipated headliner at the Copper Box Arena on September 28 has been cancelled due to an injury, as confirmed by Matchroom this evening. Fisher was all set to lead his ‘Bosh Army’ into battle against Andriy Rudenko.
As a result, the event has been relocated to Sheffield’s Canon Medical Arena with WBO lightweight champion Rhiannon Dixon defending her title against Terri Harper in front of a 3,000-capacity crowd.
Harper, a former two-weight world champion, aims to bounce back from her recent defeat to Sandy Ryan and regain her status in a lower weight class. Meanwhile, Dixon, who remains undefeated, will seek to solidify her position as a top contender in the lightweight division after her victory over Karen Carbajal in April.
The original card for September 28 was supposed to feature Dalton Smith challenging Jon Fernandez for the vacant European super-lightweight title, but Smith’s injury led to a series of venue changes.
While Fisher recovers, the rest of the card remains intact with exciting matchups including Peter McGrail vs. Brad Foster, George Liddard vs. George Davey, and Cameron Vuong vs. Joe Underwood Hughes. Additionally, Giorgio Visioli, Jimmy Sains, Ibraheem Sulaimaan, Brandon Scott, and Josh Babb will also be featured on the card.
