SALEM — Gary E. Davidson, 74, of Salem gained his wings on March 19, 2023, at Salem Regional Medical Center.

Born March 8, 1949, in Beaver Falls, Pa., he was the son of the late Howard “Shorty” and Ruth (Houston) Davidson.

Gary retired from Horst Meat Packing as a delivery driver. He was a 1968 graduate of East Palestine High School and a lifelong area resident.

He was a member of the Salem First United Methodist Church, past Commander of the East Palestine American Legion Post 31, and a former member of the Negley Fire Department. Gary was also a member of the Old Reel Collectors Association and American Collectors of Infant Feeders. He also enjoyed fishing, reading, and doing stained glass work. He was a jack of all trades and a great friend to all.

Gary is survived by his wife, Kay (Eaton) Davidson, whom he married on Aug. 16, 1996. He is also survived by daughters, Tina (Matt) Davidson Sisk of Sherrills Ford, N.C., and Vicky (Keith) Davidson DeJane of Wellsville; stepchildren, Kenneth (Cindy) Wukotich of Leetonia, and Emily (Darrin Ward) Wukotich of New Waterford; one brother, Ronald (Loretta) Davidson of New Waterford; and six grandchildren, Zachary, Jonathan, Steven, Nick, Micah and Will.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Keith Davidson.

Calling hours will be from 10-11 a.m. Wed., March 22 at the Salem First United Methodist Church. A service officiated by Rev. Byron Bufkin will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Wed, March 22.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Salem First United Methodist Church, 244 S. Broadway, Salem, Ohio 44460.

Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
