The Premier League weekend kicks off on Saturday with a London derby between Crystal Palace and West Ham. The winning side in this fixture will end the day above their rivals, while the Eagles could move up to eleventh with a success.
Premier League Preview
Both Crystal Palace and West Ham appear to be safe from the threat of relegation at this stage. However, the Eagles could almost certainly ensure their safety by reaching the 40-point mark on Saturday, while a victory could also see them move above Chelsea in the league standings. But, they will need to bounce back to form after failing to win their previous two matches.
Palace suffered a first loss since the return of Roy Hodgson in mid-week, as they lost 2-0 on the road against Wolves. It was a closer match-up than the scoreline suggested, as both sides had good chances throughout. However, Palace were always chasing the game after falling 1-0 behind after three minutes.

West Ham currently sit 14th in the standings, but they could move above Palace on goal difference if they are able to pick up maximum points this weekend. The Hammers lost for the first time in four matches in midweek, as they were narrowly edged out by Liverpool. However, David Moyes was left fuming at the conclusion of the game, as the Hammers were denied a blatant penalty.
West Ham had gone ahead in that fixture through Lucas Paqueta, but the Reds equalised just six minutes later. The Hammers did have a goal disallowed just before the hour mark, and the Reds capitalised by snatching all three points with just over 20 minutes remaining. But, the confidence does look back within this Hammers team.
Crystal Palace vs West Ham Head to Head
Palace landed a 2-1 victory at the London Stadium in the reverse fixture between the sides this term. However, that was their first win in five matches against the Hammers, with West Ham recording wins in two of the last three. Both of their wins over that period were also recorded at Selhurst Park.
Crystal Palace vs West Ham Prediction
Away advantage has been a key trend in this fixture, with only one home win coming in the last eight meetings. West Ham looked very confident despite losing to Liverpool in midweek, and we could see them edging out Palace to register maximum points in Saturday’s early game.
