Betty Jane Yesny went home to be with the Lord Oct. 6, 2022, at the Rouse Home in Youngsville, PA surrounded by her family. She was born June 22, 1929 to Henry and Christine Wahl in South Buffalo.
She graduated from Buffalo State and was a teacher in the Kenmore School District for over 20 years, teaching first grade at Jane Adams Elementary and fourth grade at Hoover Elementary. She lived most of her adult life on 344 Louvaine Dr. in Kenmore with her husband and family.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother who loved teaching, reading, singing and growing flowers, roses and vegetables. She enjoyed walking in the neighbor- hood and visiting with her neighbors. She attended Pilgrim Lutheran Church until she moved in with her daughter in 2016. Those years were very special and she became very close to her grand daughters during that time. She attended Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with her family.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years, Andrew Yesny who passed in 1997 and her son Andrew Guy Yesny who died 1986.
She is survived by her son, Dean (Kathy) Yesny of East Amherst and her daughter Karen (John) Finson of Lakewood, NY. Also surviving are her grand daughters: Kristy (David) Martin of Fredonia, Molly Woodfield of Jamestown, Laurel Finson of Buffalo, and Hannah (Harrison) Granger of Buffalo, NY.
Family and friends were received at C. Mertz & Son Funeral Home 911 Englewood Ave, Buffalo, NY 14223 on Saturday. The Funeral is Monday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. at C. Mertz & Son Funeral Home. Donations can be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church 44 Chapel Rd., in Kenmore.
