Panel: What sort of chance does Anthony Yarde have against Artur Beterbiev in January?

Jamie Moore (Coach)

I definitely think he’s got a chance. Beterbiev is a phenomenal fighter, but I feel Yarde could have a style to give him problems. Although it was over quickly, Callum Johnson showed us that Beterbiev can be hurt and isn’t invincible, and Yarde is smart and punches very hard.

Dave Allen (Heavyweight contender)

I give Yarde a chance based on Beterbiev’s age and his time spent at 175, which I believe will catch up with him eventually. The difference in experience is astronomical, though, and for that reason I believe Beterbiev will win.

Wayne Alexander (Former European super-welterweight champion)

On paper it looks like a clear win for Berterbiev, who has fought at world level since 2017. Yarde has only fought one world class opponent in Sergey Kovalev – a gallant effort that showed he can at least mix it with the best – but does seem to have changed his mindset since the Lyndon Arthur defeat and has looked more polished in his last three victories. I can see Yarde’s tricky style making it difficult for Berterbiev early on before Arthur then comes on strong in the later stages to win by a stoppage or unanimous decision.

Jake Limond (Super-lightweight prospect)

I think Beterbiev stops Yarde. Yarde is a really good boxer, and he will always have a puncher’s chance, but I just think Beterbiev is a monster. I can’t see him getting beaten anytime soon.
