Apex Legends

Tech competed in the Community Gaming battle royale on Saturday taking 9th place overall. Griffin “Starspringer” Wick secured two kills in match 3.

CSGO

The match against George Mason was rescheduled to tomorrow. Friday, the Huskies face the Northeastern Huskies in a Husky showdown.

League of Legends

Tech’s summoners won their NECC season opener against Ontario Tech 2-1. Hayden “BIG DADDY BARD” Long led the effort with 13 secured kills as Vex round 1. Aiden “Oscar Wilde” VanDrie kept up with the economy in the second round. A CS score of 215 for him.

This week the Huskies face Juniata College.

Overwatch

NACE held an Overwatch 1 tournament over the weekend. Tech defeated Central Michigan 2-1 to start. Gen “HelixNebula” Myers contributed 24,036 points of healing on King’s row and Josh “MrGotGame” Gindt secured 41 kills as D.Va.

Tech’s run was ended by Maryland, however, 2-0. Max “Sky” Killin tanked 6,577 points of damage as Reinhardt on King’s Row.

Rocket League

On Monday, Tech reversed its fortunes with a 3-0 shutout over Butler. Isaac “stew” Stilwell scored two goals in round 1 and team captain Tyler “Tater” Tappin scored three goals in round 2. Tech is now 1-2 in the NACE Starleague Varsity Premier division.

The B team had a razer close 3-0 loss to Ferris State for its season opener in the NACE Starleague Varsity+ division. Frank “Spitzer” Bruck had two saves in round 2. Tech is now 0-1 in the NSL Varsity + division.

This past Saturday Tech fell short of qualifying for CRL with a loss to Brewton Parker 3-2 sending the Huskies to the losers bracket. They then fell to Shawnee State 3-1. This Saturday the squad gets one more shot at qualifying for the prestigious league.

The Huskies face Western Kentucky in Varsity Premier on Tuesday due to a reschedule, and ECPI University in Varsity +.

Super Smash Bros: Ultimate

On Thursday Smash beat Aquinas 2-0. Christian “Triple C” Clemmons took eight stocks as Incineroar match 1 and rookie Tyler “Twizzler” Tischer closed out the series taking four stocks as Cloud. Tech is now 2-1 in the NACE Starleague Varsity Premier tournament.

This Thursday, Smash faces Davenport at 7 p.m.
