Monty Montgomery, passed away on May 5, 2023, in Riverview, Florida. He was 64 years old. His family is deeply saddened by his loss.
Monty is survived by the love of his life, Lisa Stoddart Montgomery; the apple of his eye, his daughter, Kayla (Zach) Kruer; his mother, Dorothy Montgomery; his sister, Sheryl (Eric) Hutton; his grandson, Will Kruer; many nieces and nephews; and his devoted cat, Bella. Monty was predeceased by his father, Fred Montgomery.
Monty was born on December 12th,1958 in Bloomingdale, Ohio. He was a 1977 graduate of Wintersville High School in Wintersville, Ohio. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 490-495 and retired after 34 years of service. He and his wife most recently resided in the Riverside Club in Ruskin, FL.
Monty will be forever remembered for his devotion to his family and friends, his love of golf, bourbon, and being a diehard Pittsburgh sports fan, as well as being a season ticket holder for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. Monty rarely met a stranger and made an impact on many lives. He will be forever missed.
Monty chose cremation to follow his death, and a service will be held at a later date in his home state of Ohio. Contributions in Monty’s memory may be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL.
